I have always had a love of sports and learning. I started my university career at

Dalhousie where I received my Bachelor of Commerce with a major in marketing.

From there I had developed a keen interest in nutrition and went on to become a

Registered Dietitian of Canada after graduating from MSVU with my Bachelors in

Applied Human Nutrition. While working as a Dietitian I was able to work with

QMJHL teams, pro athletes, hospitals all across Nova Scotia, and the Halifax

Rehabilitation Center.

This gave me a great foundation but I couldn’t stop there and really wanted to get

to the root cause of illness and optimize patient’s health. This led me to attend

the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine where I become a Naturopathic

Doctor. During my Naturopathic medical education I completed a sports medicine

internship and obtained my Sports Nutrition Certification from the International

Society of Sports Nutrition.

I grew up in Cole Harbour and Moncton where I was heavily involved in ringette,

hockey and soccer both provincially and at a national level. I went on to play

hockey for the Dalhousie women’s hockey team- Go Tigers! Although my athletic

career is not what it once was you can still find me on the ice, in the gym, and

coaching. I had the amazing opportunity to be the assistant coach of Kings Edge

Hill girl’s hockey team and also coached canoe and kayak athletes at Sackawa

canoe club.

My goals have always been to unite my passions of sports and medicine and I

have future aspirations of opening a sports medicine clinic in Nova Scotia. I

currently work at Cornerstone Naturopathic clinic in Upper Tantallon and am

excited for the opportunity to provide nutrition education with the amazing team

at Pro Edge.

Removing barriers to change our movement and thought patterns can optimize

performance and adaptation. We all want to be at the top of our game. I believe

in removing the hurdles that impede athletes from reaching the apex of human
